The New Alliance Model United Nations (NALMUN) is a student-led, online Model UN conference aimed at fostering open dialogue on global issues. With the motto "~Vox Populi, Vox Mundi" NALMUN seeks to ensure that all voices and ideas are represented in meaningful discussions. The first edition of the conference is scheduled for April 2025. We are inviting students from around the world to collaborate on solutions to international challenges.
NALMUN is organized by The New Alliance, a student group dedicated to inclusivity and global dialogue. Their mission is to create an accessible platform for young minds to discuss and propose solutions to real-world problems. The organization ensures that participants are empowered to contribute constructively.
A key feature of NALMUN is its affordability. The registration fee is kept low at ₹400 to ensure students from all backgrounds can participate. The New Alliance believes in making Model United Nations conferences accessible, offering an enriching experience for students without financial barriers.
NALMUN offers multiple committees where delegates simulate real United Nations functions, discussing issues ranging from Disarmament to Women's Rights, from Geopolitical Conflicts to Challenges in Space, even exploring the Fictional Realms. Participants are expected to research and present positions, encouraging deep engagement with global affairs. The conference provides a platform for students to refine their public speaking, negotiation, and leadership skills.
NALMUN promotes global collaboration by connecting students from various countries and backgrounds in an online forum. This diverse environment allows participants to gain insights into different perspectives on international issues, fostering a sense of global citizenship. Through committee sessions and debates, students not only work together to solve pressing global challenges but also learn to appreciate cultural diversity, building bridges across nations. This cross-cultural exchange is key to developing future leaders capable of navigating the complexities of international relations.
NALMUN emphasizes the development of key skills such as diplomacy, critical thinking, and leadership. By engaging in simulations of United Nations Committees, students experience firsthand the complexity of international relations. The conference encourages participants to debate global issues, offering them a deeper understanding of geopolitics while preparing them for future roles as global leaders. This interactive learning experience not only builds knowledge but also fosters personal growth, equipping students with the confidence to tackle real-world challenges.
